Patch 1.3.5 and Other Macabre Tales.

Dark elf males get emo hair as an option, now, do I find that funny or not, hmm. I expect Paul Barnett's "emo goths"...thing came into this somewhere. Actually, yes, it is kinda funny.

Other news: Darkpromise Spellcrown still ugly. (In before the "Dark Elf men still ugly" comments, suckers!)
More other news: Invader Spellcrown still has weapon skill on it. For when you just have to wade in and whack it with your staff (snerk).

I'll leave commentaries on the actual content to those more qualified than I. By whom I mean everyone.

Onwards and upwards!
My 500 point army list is kind of done, will have to see how it plays. I'm inexperienced at wargaming so I'll lose a lot even with an awesome army 'til I learn the ropes. I was debating sticking in 5 Black Guard as a special unit, definitely going to have a Master with sea dragon cloak, heavy armour and great weapon, probably on foot.

I've room to play with it since I only have corsairs and spearmen so far. Dark Riders will be in for the movement speed, but hell's teeth, £7 a model? That's £35 for 5 of them and they're a core unit! It's because they're metal models, but still, ouch. I'm taking option 2: build the little bastards out of bits. Wood Elf Glade Rider mounts and legs, Glade Guard heads, Dark Elf spearman torsos and arms. Works out at about £14 for a unit of 5 if you buy the bits independently. Not bad for a mounted unit.

My beloved 4th edition male sorcerer is on the sidelines 'til I build a bigger army and start dicking about with magic. I guess painting him was premature. Or not, I can use him as Rob's character mini for the WHFR game. Prophecy of Demise? Lalala, can't hear you.

I guess everything's good. The little parcel of joy (and spearman miniatures) this morning was...joyous. Assembling them took my mind off a few things, it's all good.

The burning question of the day, as posed by someone at work: why wasps?

The only answer I can possibly offer at the moment, facetious as it is: because wasps. Or possibly, "Because swatting the bastards is an interesting diversion." I'm sure they occupy an evolutionary niche. If only it was "eating the dead pigeons we keep finding".

Greetings.
Several days since I created this journal and there's nowt posted on it 'til now. This is where I intend to post some of my work, currently in progress, once I stop allowing my attention to wander and write a beginning for the story I am working on right now.
To explain: I am struggling to sit down, stop faffing around and write it all in order. I have written several fragments, all of which fit into the general plot, but nothing that leads into the story itself is ready.

If anyone is out there reading this, you might want to know what this work is about. I suppose you could lump it in with "Warcraft fanfic", since it is the story of a World of Warcraft RP character. No, wait, come back! I am an amateur writer, nowhere near the best around, but I am trying to produce something worth reading, that might even appeal to people with no knowledge of the Warcraft universe. One day I would like to move on to building my own fantasy worlds, when I have more experience and I have ironed out any howling errors I make with my prose, characterisation, dialogue and so on. I have also had one or two people ask about this character's backstory and what landed him in the horrible mess his life is becoming, so this is for them, too.

I wouldn't hold your breath, this is unlikely to be great writing, but I hope someone out there derives some enjoyment from it. Constructive criticism is more than welcome.
